עמית סוסנה: "קוראת לחבריי שעדיין בשבי תהיו חזקים"

עמית סוסנה שנחטפה ב-7 באוקטובר מכפר עזה ושוחררה משבי חמאס אחרי 55 ימים השתתפה בעצרת לשחרור החטופים שהתקיימה בוושינגטון.

סוסנה נשאה נאום במהלך העצרת וקראה לחבריה שעדיין מוחזקים בשבי בעזה להישאר חזקים. "כשאתה בשבי חמאס הרובה מכוון לראש שלך בכל רגע. אני קוראת לחבריי בשבי, תהיו חזקים, אל תתנו להם לשבור את רוחכם, אתם תחזרו מחושך לאור. אני מבטיחה, אנחנו מבטיחים שזה יקרה", אמרה סוסנה.

הלילה (שני) סגנית נשיא ארה״ב, קמאלה האריס, תארח את עמית סוסנה בבית הלבן, במפגש שיתמקד באלימות המינית של מחבלי חמאס. עמית תשמיע בפניה את סיפור חטיפה והשבי שעברה.

For the past 36 weeks, you have no idea how much it means to all of us in Israel.

It is very difficult for me to stand here today, but I'm doing so as I understand

how every single activity that could have assist in bringing our hostages,

my friends back home.

They should all be released as quickly as safely as possible.

They need to be released right now.

I know I have experience, I'll have every second counts.

When you are in Hamas captivity, you are constantly on the edge.

The gun is literally directed towards your head.

Things can go drastically wrong every second.

For me, the time made all the difference.

Every day I was there, I have experience and had to deal with different threats.

A horrific experience that I could have never anticipated, not even in my worst nightmares.

Hamas terrorists really know how to mess with your mind.

And I managed to cope with it for the 55 days I was held there in captivity.

But it got harder and harder every day.

I can't even imagine how it feels like having to deal with it for 254 days.

It's unimaginable, it's unbearable.

And from here I wish to call my friends.

Please stay strong, have faith, don't let them break your spirit.

The darkness will end, it has to.

And you will be brought back to light.

I promise, and we promise that it will happen.
